How to Use Multimedia Assets for Business Marketing

Have you ever created a beautiful print campaign only to realize you didn’t have the assets to transform it to digital or TV? Or, created a perfect TikTok campaign but didn’t have the materials to transform it into email? You’re not alone.

As the number of platforms to reach customers has increased, the need for scalable concepts and assets has also increased. This is challenging every marketer and creative professional to think about how to grow their capacity to market by thinking in flexible conceptual frameworks. This means not just wanting to make a great TikTok post but creating a campaign around a concept that works for all channels and types of mediums. But, to do that you need to find assets that can scale your concept onto and across any platform.

Luckily you can find assets across Shutterstock to help you with any campaign concepts. From images and music to footage and 3D models, our family of brands, including PremiumBeat, Pond5, and Turbosquid, can help you find the right content no matter what you’re looking for.

It might be easiest to explain using an example. Let’s say you want to talk about growth for your company in 2023. You might use forests as a metaphor. This metaphor becomes the central visual concept for your campaign. One way into a visual concept can be a particular image that you use across a campaign. From the visual image, you can enhance the concept by choosing corresponding audio, videos, and 3D products. However, you can start with any of these concepts as a central idea and then use different media to expand it.

For example, you could start with a video of a forest and create a series of images from that footage. You can then use the audio track from the video as the soundscape for your audio campaign. And you could use the imagery to create products like mugs or t-shirts to extend beyond just digital channels.

Concurrently, you can use a combination of resources in the creation of a single, dynamic project, such as a sizzle reel to kick off a branded social media campaign. We’ve created one here that uses 3D, video, and music assets–all available through Shutterstock’s family of brands.

Forest in Pictures

To explore this further, let’s consider the concept of “forest” within a visual language. Forests can be represented in any number of ways. Shutterstock has over 192 million images to choose from, so your options are virtually limitless.

You could use a classic image of a forest or combine elements like animals, trees, and foliage into something more abstract. From there you can build out the visual language with illustrations, patterns, artwork, and more to help bring the concept to life.

Forest in Audio

Once you have a central image that you want to use for your concept, you can also explore audio options. PremiumBeat provides exclusive, high-quality tracks and sound effects for use in new and traditional media projects, including videos, films, apps, games, and television programming. To extend the metaphor of “forest,” you can search for tracks that sound like a natural environment (ambient). Or, you can find background music that is calming and peaceful. Either way, you can find the perfect track to help bring your concept to life.

The team at PremiumBeat has hand-picked some beautiful tracks that pair well with scenic footage. Check out a small sampling below. It’s free to make an account on PremiumBeat. With an account you can store your favorites on a playlist or even download track previews to place in your edit.

Forest in Videos

You might want to use the photos and audio tracks together to create short videos that you post on social media. But, many concepts can be further expanded with unique video that is explicitly used across your website or other mediums. Pond5 is the world’s largest video-first content marketplace, with more than 30 million royalty-free video clips to choose from. Here you can find nature scenes or even specific forest footage. Any of these clips might be used as is, or they could be edited together to create a unique story. The more footage you use, the more you can expand your concept of growth into longer storytelling opportunities.

Forest in 3D

Finally, you may also want to take your concept of “forests” to the newest frontier and create 3D models or 3D stories that help to bring your community on an even more immersive journey. TurboSquid provides a complete destination for 3D professionals making models that can be used across creative concepts. Here you can find many 3D models of forests, trees, plants and other elements that can help bring your forest story to life. But, you can also  think in new and unique ways about how 3D models can create differentiated marketing for your audience.

Through Shutterstock’s family of brands, you can take any concept and expand it (at least!) four ways to build a campaign that resonates with your audience and meets the needs of multiple platforms.
